We enjoyed sailing on the Conquest over Thanksgiving and thoroughly enjoyed the ship. The Rock show was excellent and the 80's show was just OK. The food at the Blue Iguana was great - I especially enjoyed the breakfast - on the left side they cook your eggs to order and put it on top of a super yummy tortilla with meat and then they have a delicious corn bread concoction (arepas) for the side. After that, hit the salsa bar to continue adding ingredients to your hearts content! Lunch is also delicious at Blue Iguana, but they have limited hours - so check the times guide. We also discovered the hidden BBQ place: if you find the dessert station in the buffet, take the stairs right behind the desserts and the BBQ place is tucked away up there - this is a great place to go when you first get on the ship - nobody else knows about it. I highly recommend the Dr. Seuss breakfast. It will probably be on your last sea day and you make a reservation in advance for $5 per person: info will be in the times guide. It is really well done and worth the few dollars. If you attend the Dr. Seuss breakfast, the menu has some interesting items. The green eggs and ham is interesting, but not yummy - maybe just get one for the table. We enjoyed the steak and eggs and omelet and the yogurt parfaits. The waffle was also cute. The characters come around and you can take pictures with each. You can use your own camera, but I noticed that my pictures were not turning out because of a bright light behind the character, so I asked the character to shift and then my pictures turned out. My favorite meal on board was the Sea Day brunch. If you go to brunch, be sure to order the banana cream pie. My mom likes to go to "tea time" so we did this on the sea days. It can be hard to find the correct dining room, and when you finally find it, you have to walk all the way to the back to where they are actually serving tea. My 7 year old daughter really enjoyed "trivia" that was at around 9pm in the atrium. The trivia was lots of fun and less about trivia and more about dancing, singing, and having fun. The kids were really getting into it and it was fun for adults too.

Port Reviews

Fort Lauderdale (Port Everglades)

We parked at a super cheap off site lot and then used Uber to get to/from the port. This turned out to be a good decision as Uber was only $6 each way and we still saved over $50 vs. parking at the port. The off site lot was not well organized and a bit of a disaster when we got there and we are glad that we did not depend on them to take us and pick us up.

Cozumel

We always enjoy Cozumel. We took a taxi to Paradise Beach and absolutely loved it. This was the perfect place for a 7 year old, teenager, grandma, and mom who is trying to keep everyone happy! It was truly paradise with plenty of shade and fun for all ages of kids. The nachos were yummy.

Ocho Rios

We walked off the ship and wanted to go to Dunns River Falls. The taxi people are super pushy and controlling and you have to assert yourself so that you get to do what you want and not what they want you to do. We ended up paying $10 per person for round trip transportation to/from Dunns River. The entrance fee is another $20 per person. Also, the taxi people tried to tell us what time we would be picked up (2 hours later) and we had to negotiate to be picked up 3 hours later as we wanted more time to be sure to get to do everything. I really don't know how to just get a 1 way taxi, but that would have been better. We loved Dunns River Falls and did not put ourselves in the long congo line of people, but rather just climbed on our own. I was wearing strappy river shoes and those were not good because I kept getting rocks stuck between my foot and the shoe. The cheap mesh type shoes seemed to be better. There is also a garden near the top of the falls and some shops and food there. We really enjoyed our visit and since we like to take our time 3 hours was just right.

Grand Cayman (Georgetown)

We took public transportation to 7 mile beach. It costs $2.50 to ride and that was half the cost as a taxi. It was a windy day and the beach was not great due to the wind. Next time, we are planning to just go to Margaritaville as you can just walk there.
