Birthday celebration / Thanksgiving holiday cruise to the Bahamas from Manhattan. We had a group of 18 people and booked 8 cabins for this 7-night cruise. The ship itself is beautiful and clean. The cabins were very nice. Our cabin attendant was less than friendly and barely cleaned up. Dining at the buffet and in the main dining room was average and service was good. Dining in the specialty restaurants was awesome! The food and service in both Teppanyaki and in Moderno Churrascaria was excellent!! This cruise line boasts everything is "freestyle", but you have to make reservations for everything! From dining and shows to getting off of the ship at ports. The absolute most aggravating and disappointing part of this cruise was the crew/staff.

Our second stop was their private island, Great Stirrup Cay. Four of us reserved our time to get off of the ship at 10:40am. We came down to the appropriate deck at 10:15am and stopped to ask a crew member exactly where we needed to report to, as our reservation time was 10:40. He told us that the "time" did not matter, what was our "letter" (very rudely). I responded that our letter was "E". He said, "there's the line to the Breakaway Theater." We got in line and waited over a hour and a half and still had not reached the theater. One of us went into the theater to see how things were moving along and asked another crew member about how long the wait will be once we make it into the theater staging area. She was told about a hour to a hour and a half! Seriously, over 3 hours to get off of the ship!!!???!! At this time, we opted to get out of line and to try again after lunch. We attempted again at 1pm. Same story...over a hour and a half in line, but made it to the theater this time. Sat in the theater for another 45 minutes. Inquired again as to how much longer of a wait and were told about another hours!! Needless to say, we did not make it off the ship and did not get to see this island! The whole process was very, very unorganized! Why did we have to reserve a time or letter when it did not make a bit of difference??? We feel as if we were robbed!! Definitely cheated out of visiting one of the ports on the trip!!

As a group, we did one "dress up" night and had lots of photos taken. After all photos were taken, the photographer told us the photos would be ready in the morning after 10am. We went to the Photo Gallery around Noon, but there were no photos. We asked an associate about the photos and he told us to come back later (rudely). We went back at 3pm; still no photos. At this time, we found the photos on the touch screen but not printed out in our binders. Again, we consulted an associate and were told to choose the ones we wanted and he would have them printed out and ready by 10pm. I went back at 10pm, still no printed photos. I inquired with an associate again and was told that they did not have an order from us or any photos! Now I am starting to get angry. I contacted guest services, who in turn contacted the Photo Manager. After all of this process, I went back to the Photo Gallery, still no photos. The rest of the family met me there and the manager appeared and said he is working on it. Then, less than 5 minutes later, the photos appeared. The customer service provided by the staff in the Photo Gallery was horrible. Very uncaring and rude!

Port Reviews

Nassau

We have been to Nassau many, many times. We typically venture out on our own and find some local places to eat/drink with the local folks or hit a beach.
