10-day Southern Caribbean Repositioning Cruise
Brooklyn, New York to Ft. Lauderdale
Visiting St. Maarten, Antigua and Bonaire
The cabin was adequate. I liked the closet facing into the bathroom, though I wish there was a door to hide it. The positioning of the opening was awkward when walking into the stateroom, seeing all of our clothes hanging there. Though we booked a Deluxe Balcony, it was smaller than our Aqua Class Balcony on Celebrity and a balcony on Holland America.
The look and feel of the room was nice and inviting. The bed was comfortable. There was less shelf space or electrical outlets compared to other cruise ships we've sailed on. There was plenty of space under the beds to stow your luggage.
The balcony was 2.5 times bigger than most of the other deluxe balconies because of where we were positioned. Most of the balconies on this ship are tiny. Really tiny. We also had privacy because of the over hang from the deck above. Most balconies have very little privacy due to positioning and the skywalk overhanging on deck 17.
Love St. Maarten. We just hung out in St. Phillipsburg and had beers.
Amazing port to sail away from. When we passed the statue of Liberty (in the rain) everyone started singing God Bless America...a very moving way for an American to start a cruise.
Unfortunately we stopped here on their Independance Day. Everything was closed and it was raining all day. The port was dirty and it smelled really badly. Not going back.
Beautifu,l quiet port. Walked the downtown area, shopping and stopped for drinks on a bar that was built out over the ocean. We will come back here.
