Sail Date: Nov 2016

We booked this ship for a Bahamas cruise but we ended up going to Bimini instead of Grand Bahama Island because of a storm. As a result, none of the advertised excursions were available. Fine, we tried to go with the flow. Check in was easy, you provide your credit card for tips and incidentals and they give you a sail card linked to your account. Our luggage which had to be searched (they confiscate any alcohol you bring with you). They brought our luggage to our room 4 hours later and left it outside the door. You might want to pack your carry-on with everything you’ll need right away. When trying to board the ship, we were pressured to buy drink tickets, bottles of wine and souvenirs.

Trick #1: DON’T DO IT! The drink tickets come in a pack of 10 coupons and you have to present a coupon and your sail card every time you want to order a drink. If you do a drink package, DO NOT order a drink at the same time as someone else in your party with a coupon. My companion had her own coupons and sail card but the waitress would take both coupons and use only one sail card. What this did was rack up more than the allowed 10 drinks on my sail card and I was charged for the extra drinks which were already paid for by my companion. Also, if you buy alcohol from the duty free store you can’t take it with you and drink it. It is provided to you when you disembark.

Trick #2: They significantly reduce the cost of the upgrade to a balcony suite at check in. We upgraded to a balcony suite and when we got to the room we had an obscured view because the life boats are all situated in front of the balcony rooms. ALL the balcony rooms have obscured views but they don’t tell you that.

Cabin Review

Cabin Deluxe Terrace Suite

The room was surprisingly spacious but the view from the balcony was almost completely obstructed from a life boat. There are only a handful of balconies that are not obstructed, the majority of them have a life boat less than 5 feet off the balcony which completely block the view.
