My husband and I sailed Royal Caribbean before, but it was back in 2007 on Jewel of the Seas, so it had been quite awhile since we sailed. I am a new member to Cruise Critic, so I am just getting around to posting this review. My husband is in the military and we have 4 girls (2 in college and 2 at home). We've been stationed here in TX for about 2 years. We don't get a "break" since we have no family close by, and few friends so when the two younger ones flew to MD to visit their grandparents we jumped at the chance for a much needed WOOSAH moment of just "US" time.
Liberty of the Seas is an amazing ship! Embarkation went smoothly and we were on the ship and in the Windjammer cafe right as they were opening up at 11:30am. Debarkation went smoothly too since we decided to carry off our own luggage. The entire week, we found the food to always be hot and fresh. We only went to the Windjammer for breakfast and occasionally at lunch. My personal favorite was the cook to order omelettes. I didn't care for the cook to order waffles...they just didn't taste good to me.
The first cruise we ever went on was on Celebrity Cruise line and their food and waffles were delicious, so I think I was kinda expecting their waffles to be just as good, but they were not. We were celebrating my 40th birthday and our anniversary so upon arriving to our cabin (#1377 Deck 10), the decorations I ordered were up and the room looked wonderful. Our cabin was very nice and quiet and larger than I expected. The room attendant service was excellent! We were on Deck 10 (aft) and this deck carries the more high end suites on the ship, so service was top notch!
We were on Deck 10 aft. The service was top notch since were on the deck where all the suites were. Definitely recommend Deck 10 for interior cabins!!! and they seemed a bit larger too.
Hard to walk downtown without being harassed to buy something.
Embarkation and debarkation went smoothly
