Three generations spent Thanksgiving together on the Allure of the Seas. Ages were 70s, 40s, and 6 years old. The good: Entertainment, internet speed, The bad: Impossible to make dining reservations at anytime dining. Terrible phone system with very long wait times. Same for room service. Long wait times to order, and receive food. Poor choices on room service and food arrives cold and not very appealing. Long distances to different venues because of the size of the ship. (However, the ship itself is a marvel.) So if entertainment is a high priority for you and you are looking for a ship with many, many features and venues, you will be happy. Just don't expect well prepared food at the dining rooms, room service or buffets. Lots of food, but just plain mediocre. In general, service is just fair, with a few exceptions. The Diamond plus drink policy is generous with three free drinks per person available in most bars between 5:30 and 8PM. The Diamond Plus lounge is nice but crowded. Eastern itinerary is okay, with the stop in the Bahamas only fair because of the arrival and departure time. We are frequent cruisers (70 on many different lines) and like most cruises, the Allure offers some unique and pleasant surprises. However, it dishes up a host of disappointments, too.

Cabin Review

Superior Ocean View Stateroom with Balcony

Adequate for two, but no more than two. Limited storage. Balcony just has two chairs and a small round table. No lounge chairs or footstools. So, if balcony is important to you, you will be disappointed. Shower, no tub. One sink. Closet and shelf space minimal. Bed is very comfortable and bedding is nice. Virtually no amenities. Must ask for conditioner, etc. A very average to below average cabin.

Port Reviews

Fort Lauderdale (Port Everglades)

The Bahama stop is an early arrival and departure so is not a very appealing stop. St. Thomas and St. Martin are good ports with plenty to do.

Nassau

Too early for arrival and departure.

St. Thomas

Plenty to do. We took a taxi to Red Hook and a ferry to St. John. Very nice day but a little rushed because of late arrival time.

St. Maarten

Taxi to Orient Beach. Love the Kon Tiki which is pricey, but clean, comfortable and good food. Great beach.
