Decided to go on my first cruise with my Mom and 3 sisters. The ship was chosen because of the dates available and the other reviews. It lived up to every last one of them. The ship seemed huge the first day - and not so huge on the last day. Everyone from the way they handled checking everyone in at port, to the crew, the wait staff, the stateroom staff, etc were top notch. They made this first cruise. And it will not be my last.
My only regret was the one excursion I had pre-ordered in Belize was cancelled along with at least 3 others in that country. So staying in port at Belize City was a bit of a let down. Although I did enjoy the cold Belize beer and the band that I sat listening to at 9:30 in the morning!
Some reviews complained of the sales pitches throughout the ship. I guess I didn't pay attention to it, because I never once felt I was being hounded to do or buy anything. Even the ship photographers that were every where, were very professional and if you said you were not interested in your photo being taken, they didn't. Yes, the Promenade Mall had a lot of 'sales' - but apparently you have never walked through a shopping mall in the USA - nothing different about this. No high pressure sales - at all!
Worked for me - but then I usually travel in a 34ft RV. This was about the same size, only with maid service LOL
Not much to do, but waited for the ship to leave
Shopping in town, beach stop
Had planned on taking the zipline and cave tour, but three tours were cancelled. So stayed in port
Our taxi driver took us to a private beach on the other side of the island. Had a wonderful time swimming, using surf boards, inner tubes, snorkeling and massage!
