I chose this cruise for the time of year and the ports of call. This was my first time on Freedom of the Seas and the ship is very comfortable to navigate, with the exception of the 3rd floor rooms ... took me a few to figure out that you can't go all the way from front to back on floor 3 because of the ice arena, etc. Room signage could be better but we eventually figured it out!
The food was perhaps a 3 out of 5...then we heard the head chef was on vacation so not sure if that's why or just the food itself, but we had better on a Celebrity Cruise. Overall though, the wait staff was excellent! All the staff actually was fantastic! I especially enjoyed the piano bar each night at the Schooner Lounge...Andrew the piano man, was A++ in my book! I would book this cruise again just to hear him play and sing!
This was my first time in Labadee Haiti. Watch out for the people in orange shirts, they will pull you into their huts to sell you anything they can!! Don't make eye contact or speak to them or you will never get away from them! I was literally scared...got separated from my family and thought I'd have to go back to the ship for safety. But all was good in the end. Found out they are employees of RC and just trying to earn a living. But I didn't like anything about the port at all...I will skip this one in future.
Cabins were small but comfortable and uber clean! Our cabin porter, Maxine, was the best on the ship! She remembered everyone's names on her floor and took very good care of us. She deserved an extra tip!!!
Getting on board was a painful experience... there was a delay of some kind and everyone was miserable...hopefully a one-off situation. But they could have more security scanners to move the line along!
Not a fun place at all. Stay on the ship and don't go near the shops!
Snorkeled on our own. Water isn't very green or pretty though
