This was absolutely one of the best itineraries we've done in all of our 21 cruises! Puerto Rico, Antigua, Dominica, Grenada, St. Lucia, and Tortola.
We arrived in Puerto Rico a day early and stayed at the S.J. Suites in Old San Juan. We had a large comfortable room with a king size bed, window facing the street, a very nice leather chair, futon and fridge. It was a little dated but the location and being genuinely welcomed by Raymond at the front desk more than made up for that! He was helpful in every way! His recommendation for dinner at Barrachina where the Pina Colada was invented did not disappoint! My Steak Fajitas were just perfectly cooked and my husbands coconut shrimp also. Of course we both enjoyed a Pina Colada! We loved riding the free trolley that stopped throughout Old San Juan and all of the shops that were close by our hotel. A cab to the cruise port was 10 minutes and $17 plus tip and we were all checked in and on board The Gem by noon.
Embarkation was a breeze. We enjoyed lunch in the Grand Pacific Dining Room and headed on deck before the muster drill. Our Mini Suite on deck 11 was spacious, comfortable and mid ship. Our cabin Steward Diego was outstanding and friendly! The balcony is always one of the best parts for me and having a full bath tub was a plus too.
Just wonderful! S.J. Suites, Dinner, A Trolley Ride & Shopping.
So Picturesque! A Little Shopping And Back On Board By Noon.
Just Beautiful ~ More Shopping And back On Board By Noon!
My Very Favorite Port! Enjoyed The Straw Market and Music So Very Much!
I did enjoy Sailing Into Port And The Gorgeous Scenery But Some Of The Vendors Were Too Pushy For Me.
