I chose this cruise because of the reputation of Scenic, the cruises available at the time of the year that I wanted to go & most importantly because they were prepared to waive the single supplement cost as October is a slightly quieter time of the year. Without that option, it would have been out of my price range. The fly free option was awesome too.
From the moment I walked onto the ship (Scenic Opal), to the moment I got off the ship nothing was too much to ask. The off board activities were very professionally organised. The butlers, cabin attendants, waiter / waitresses, bar people were absolutely first class. It was refreshing to see their smiling, happy faces each day. They quite obviously love their jobs.
My biggest praise is to Chef Walter & his team of chefs for their awesome food. My allergy to garlic was taken very seriously. Each morning I received a menu which showed what food contained garlic highlighted in red, so that I knew what to avoid. Which meant I had absolutely no food issues whatsoever.
Smallish, but contained everything that I needed. I spent very little time in my cabin (other than to sleep), so I could see no point having a cabin with a balcony. Easier to sit in the main lounge area where you could see the world go by.
