I was looking forward to the cruise as I had not been on one for over 15 years. I was particularly looking forward to the catering as this is my trade which I teach these days. Our cabin porter was first class and couldn't do enough for us but that is where it ends. The room was comfortable and most of the facilities were new, comfortable and of a high standard. The entertainment was not for everyone, the poolside music catered for those who like Reggae or Black soul music, it was loud and uncomfortable. We had to move and couldn't use the pool bar, the pool and the hot tubs, they were crowded and not relaxing at all. the bar staff where lacking customer service skills as were the buffet catering team, I asked for peas to be refreshed for my meal and I was presented with a plate of frozen (with ice on) peas, the chef did not have a clue what he was doing, seriously!

The stage show was crude and not entertaining, the other sets of entertainment were all at the wrong times meaning that by 9pm there was nothing to do apart from shop or have your lungs filled with cigarette smoke from the outside bars and the indoor casino which allowed smoking in confined spaces, I was not aware of this when I booked.

Going back to the food, it was mainly cold and not kept warm which poses a problem, fortunately we escaped food poisoning. I believe that I could earn a few quid looking at there methods of food service and training.
