Sail Date: Nov 2016
Cabin: Aft-Facing Penthouse with Large Balcony

We have sailed the Dawn a number of times prior to the recent dry dock and found the updates were beautiful with the exception of the artwork in the Venetian Dining Room, which our travel group found disturbing.

The Meet and Greet was well attended by the Captain and many Senior Officers who were happy to provide information and answer any questions of the passengers. It was a very good experience and NCL is very generous with provisions for this event.

The menus have changed somewhat and a few of our favorite items were dropped from the specialty dining venues, such as the fabulous souffles and the flavored olive oils in LaCucina among a few other items. However, the food was plentiful and quite tasty.

Cabin Review

Aft-Facing Penthouse with Large Balcony

Cabin SF

The cabin was freshly redecorated. Everything was in perfect working order and immaculately maintained. Our only disappointment was that they cushions on the balcony were the old ones that had been weathered for years. The bed and pillows were extremely comfortable and the quality of the bed sheets was luxurious. The bath towels were over-sized and plentiful. The tea and espresso with the new Delongi coffee maker was a smashing hit. Our cabin steward was a wizard and created amazing towel animals and had a menagerie of towel animals (including tiny mice) with a striped towel in the shape of a heart displayed on our bed for our wedding anniversary. It delighted us greatly.

Port Reviews

New Orleans

There is too much to do in the Big Easy to list but you should try Napoleon House at St. Louis and Chartress for lunch and Pat O'Brien's in the Quarter for a hurricane before getting away!

Harvest Caye

Gorgeous island with plenty to see and do and well thought out. Great beach with comfortable loungers and calm clear blue/green water!

Costa Maya

Fun to walk around, lots of friendly people, but you cannot browse the shops without being hassled to buy or bargain.
