The amazin queen Mary in the port I wished we'd visited before embarkat

We had cruised before on the carnival dream a much bigger ship but had just a much of a good time food and cleanliness are of upmost important and of course price, this was fantastic good for my smoking buddies too we were not made to feel like freaks...embarkation guy who took our cases was a bit frighting shouted at us and said we were idiots for thinking we could only board when they said we could, we were early he said we could board straight away ...so we did very orgainised surprisingly quick and painless arriving on board over 1 hour early eating and drinking 10mins later, the ship is tidy they are forever cleaning it the staff were all lovely, buffets were plentiful fine dinning was very enjoyable. Our cabin was a bit noisy I don't think we will have a end stateroom again with a wrap around balcony as it added to the noise but using earplugs and having a full belly and a few drinks we both slept soundly, but was to far away 7/10min walk to the middle where all the action was bit far.Entertainment was during the day a bit DJ loud and silly (men dressing up as women or hairy chest comps, or ice sculptures or mixing cocktails) but evening entertainment shows were much better, infact first class we all thought the bands in the red frog were brill to and all the comedians were brilliant, we went to the nightclub once and was amazed at the structure, I was on cheers program and had run out of my quota of alcohol so we went to bed after a quick dance but were made to feel welcome.....ports were fun and pretty full of inexpensive food and free wifi, we didn't do any trips just walked around felt very safe.

I did purchase the $72 wifi package and was a little disappointed in signal strength couldn't always get on but made the most of the free wifi on our stop offs

Cabin Review

Vista Suite

Cabin VS

Pretty noisy aircon and sea noise though 2 French doors and a window but clean and tidy spacious for two people we didn't ask to move but had them look at the noise, which they did but it made no difference. Wrap around balcony was a bit untidy furniture for four but a bit murky. But we slept soundly the bed was very comfortable and there was plenty of storage but not enough for 2 adults and if us share with kids I guess it wouldn't work. Wifi in my cabin kept cutting out infact it was pretty useless we were to far away and not worth $72 I didn't complain guest services queue was always to long, I just made the most of free wifi on land overall I think we will go carnival again but choose a cheaper balcony option.

Port Reviews

Los Angeles

easy to get to pleasent after freighting man who took our bags

Cabo San Lucas

Very pretty walk off which I much preferred lots to see and do very relaxed and tidy

Puerto Vallarta

Didn't enjoy the small boat that took us ashore as it was very rough sea although I'm still not sure boat driver did it on purpose or not it was horrible after a good day walking and seeing the port and all its shops we did venture out of this area but it was nice to get off the ship
