We had the worst cabin ever (4568) right by the gangway which ensured little to no sleep with all the banging around by nearly 10 staff opening the hatch and dragging the gangway into place, sometimes at 5:30 am. This is not their fault. These rooms should not be filled or at least advise the person booking what to expect, so they can decide to cancel and get a full refund.
There is now a room service charge and charges for certain meals in the main dining rooms. This was not the case when we sailed on NCL on the GEM in December of 2016. Guest services could have cared less about the issues we had getting our on board credits applied properly until one day I actually got a woman on that desk that gave a damn and fixed the problem in less than two minutes.
Activities were boring, for the most past, and they didn't give prizes out like they used to in the past. You had to get a card signed every time you participated in an activity and at the end of the cruise, you could go to the ship library and pick up the prize you qualified for based on the number of activities completed. I don't play bingo, but I heard it cost $70 to buy the bingo cards for a game. Are you kidding me? That's crazy expensive.
