I'll start by saying I've been on a number of these cruises already so I was not too disappointed when I found out that the port of Ensenada was canceled. Carnival issued everybody $50 on board credit which seemed fair to me.Embarkation - Probably the quickest I've ever experienced. It took no more than 15 minutes and was a breeze. We were on the ship by 1:00 and our room was ready by 1:30. A+Buffet - The buffet was actually above average and better than I have experienced on Royal Caribbean. The pizza and deli were surprisingly good and the service was quick. The options became a bit repetitive but that's to be expected. Overall it was decent. B+Dining Room (breakfast & lunch) - I preferred the dining room when it came to breakfast and lunch. The quality of food was definitely better than the buffet and the service was relatively quick. With that being said, the dining room is not open long enough for these meals. I also didn't like how our party had to share tables during some meals when we would have preferred eating in private. The waiters could seem rude at times so I do believe the dining room could be improved for these meals. C+Elation Dining Room (dinner) - The food was very good. I really enjoyed the options each night and was always satisfied. Our waiters were very nice and they seemed to be doing their best the entire time. The service was a bit slow, however. It was probably the slowest dinner service I've ever experienced on a cruise but I didn't let it bother me much. Our table mates were great and the overall experience was very good on a nightly basis. ABar service - The cocktail waiters were very pushy and very annoying, to be honest. They were very intrusive out on the pool deck as we were approached every few minutes to have our order taken. It seems like they overstaffed their cocktail waiters when other areas could use more staff. Then when I actually needed a drink it seemed like the waiters were hard to find. Funny how that worked. Bar service in the dining room was also EXTREMELY slow. We waited more than 10 minutes each time we ordered a beer or cocktail at the dinner table. This was something that I found unacceptable. The service at the bars themselves was good and the bartenders were cool. The drinks were surprisingly good as they actually seemed to have alcohol in them as opposed to some of the cruises I've been on. The other thing I don't get is why the "sports bars" can't actually show some real sports. Half the time they are airing ESPN Deportes. That's fine on one TV, but really unfair to air it all over the boat. Then the bar TVs are showing soccer and lacrosse? REALLY? It's the middle of the Major League Baseball season and the NBA Finals and they're showing that crap? UNACCEPTABLE!Service/Cocktail waiters = FDrinks = A+Entertainment - The shows I saw were as good as a cruise show will get. I took in 3 comedy acts and all three of them made me laugh, so no complaints there. AActivities - I'm not much for cruise ship activities so I wont say much. The ones I've experienced, such as trivia games, seem to be run very sloppily. The hairy chest contest is just stupid. N/ACasino - The dealers are much nicer than what you'd find in Las Vegas. Minimums are always $5 on Black Jack and Craps (except the first night when they're $3) which was cool, but I did not like the continuous shuffle on black jack. Texas Hold Em was played with an electronic poker pro which I also do not like. Overall the casino was always fun and did not leave much to be desired. AState room - cozy and always attended to by our steward. We really enjoyed our VERY comfortable bed! It was small and the TV sucked but we were rarely in our room anyway ;) A+With all of this said, we really enjoyed ourselves. There was usually something to do and we were kept entertained and/or relaxed most of the time. This cruise is a great value and it's not too short nor is it too long. The only complaints I had were about the pushy bar waiters, some of the VERY slow service and that there wasn't enough to do on the ship to make up for the fact that our Mexican port was canceled. Other than that everything was superb. I would also like to say that I prefer Carnival to Royal Caribbean.

Cabin Review

Cabin U

Our cabin was always kept clean and our steward was great. The bed was VERY comfortable! The TV had very bad picture quality and I don't understand why the cruises can't get some better sports channels. All in all we liked our cozy little inside cabin.
