Traveled with children

This was our first cruise and we were travelling with our two children who are 4.5 and 2.5 years old.  For those who may be considering travelling with children, we offer the following:For kids who are 3+ and potty trained, the Enchantment of the Seas offers AWESOME activities for kids.  We were reluctant to drop off our 4.5 year old as we felt he might want to spend more vacation time with us.  Oh no.  As soon as we walked into the kids room, he was off and didnt even wave goodbye.  The staff was great.  They had a pirates parade where the kids marched around the ship singing pirate songs. They also had a talent show, which was cute.  They give you a pager while your child is there just incase they need to get in touch with you.  Our son really enjoyed it.If you are travelling with kids who are not fully potty trained, please note, there are VERY few structured activities.  They will not allow yound kids to play in the kids area, even when supervised by a parent.  Kids in swim diapers are NOT allowed in any of the pools.  There is a "sprinkler pool" where little kids can run around and get wet, although I think technically they are not supposed to be in there.  There were some activities for small kids and parents in the bolero lounge each morning for an hour or so.  These were OK, but our daughter got bored pretty quickly.  We were not looking to dump our kids off all day while we sipped cocktails by the pool.  But it would have been nice to have a place for the young kids to play and have fun while also giving us an opportunity to actually feel like we were on vacation.  We were able to arrange for babysitters a few nights while on ship.  This worked out very well.  The kids enjoyed it and it was nice to get a couple of hours of adult time while the kids were asleap.  They charged $12/hour for two kids in our cabin, which is a deal based upon what we pay at home.  I recommend arranging for this when you get on the ship. The organized excursions they had while in Cozumel and Belize were not really geared for kids.  Particularly when it is so hot.  I recommend planning your own in advance.  We really enjoyed Chakanaab park in Cozumel where the kids could swim with the dolphins.  Its an easy cab ride from the dock.  In Belize we arranged for a cab driver to take us to the Belize Zoo for an hour.  The kids loved seeing the animals.  Its a cute little zoo about 45 minutes from the dock.  The cab driver was great.  Otherwise, there is not much to do in Belize.  Our waiter at dinner was AWESOME.  He was really great with the kids and remembered what they liked to eat.  He even made a napkin animal for my son that he LOVED (and took home).  Our stateroom attended was great too.  Remember the kids names right away and gave them hugs when we left.  Overall, we had a wonderful time on this cruise.  We felt that if there were more activities for younger kids it would have been PERFECT.  ps. in talking with some of the kids staff, it sounds like RCI is working on more options for younger kids.  Some boats may already have them.  If this is important to you, i would ask about it when booking a cruise

Cabin Review

We were in adjoining balcony cabins on deck 8, port side.  The cabin was nice and clean with enough room for everyone.  The beds were super comfortable.  The shower was small but good water pressure and tons of hot water.  The water out of the tap was brownish so we didnt drink it.  It was cleaned nicely everyday.
