We thought the 10 ports sounded interesting and we liked that all staterooms had balconies and that there was an included tour in each port. The trip exceeded our expectations. The ship was wonderful, the staff was highly qualified and pleasant, the food was great, and the included tours were terrific. We stayed at hotels one night in Stockholm and one night in Bergen, and we enjoyed the chance to relax before and after our flights. My husband is vegetarian, and he was offered a variety of delicious entrees at dinner and a wide selection of vegetarian foods at breakfast and lunch. We signed up for seven additional tours, including the ballet and a concert and a jazz cruise, all of which were terrific. We have already signed up for another Viking Ocean cruise, this time in the Mediterranean. The Viking staff made sure that everything ran smoothly, so there were never crowds at the dockside or at restaurants or anywhere. The other passengers were courteous and interesting, so we made lots of friends. We enjoyed the spa. We enjoyed the lectures on the ports and Scandinavian art and history. We were usually sleepy at night, so we did not attend many of the evening programs. We did enjoy the musical concerts during the day.
Our cabin was spacious and very pleasant. The staff kept it immaculate. It was quiet, so we were able to read our tour books or rest in the afternoons that we were at sea. The balcony was fabulous. We enjoyed sunsets several evenings on the balcony, and it was fun to sit outside as we came into the ports.
Tour was good. We also walked about on our own.
We had a great guide and we learned a lot.
We learned a lot about Estonia.
We had been to Berlin before. The city tour was brief but a good refresher.
It was raining so we did not get to see as much.
We had a lot of fun on the jazz cruise.
We enjoyed getting to see the city. The next day we walked about on our own and went to the Hanseatic Museum.
