We have cruised with Royal, Princess and thought that we would try Norwegian because neither of the aforementioned had all of the islands to visit in one week (Barbados, St. Kitts, Martinique, St. Maarten, St. Thomas), as this particular Gem ship did.

From the time we boarded and found our cabin not properly cleaned (used can of pop, left over stained spilled milk on the desk, and not all our towels in the washroom), it started off on the wrong foot.

The overall quality of food was average at best. For anyone who has cruised, you can appreciate that the food is part of the vacation. On the Gem, at the buffets it was more hamburgers, hot dogs, fries, lasagna, cold cuts, egg salad, tuna salad, fried fish, pizza, usual breakfast fair.
