Cabin: Deluxe Ocean View Stateroom with Balcony

Radiance Class ships have been our favorites for years, and this was our 9th experience with this class.

Many things were wonderful - the awesome balcony, our cabin steward, Giovanni's and our waitstaff in the MDR. However, there were glitches of kinds we haven't seen before.

Even though we had a confirmation from Royal Caribbean dated May, 2015, for early dining on the first leg, our sea passes showed us eating at 8 p.m. It seems that subsequent to our reservation they had sold space to three large groups who wanted early dining, so they bounced earlier reservations with no notice. My husband can't eat late and still sleep, so if we had known this, we would have rescheduled our cruise. I felt bad for the maitre d', who was catching really ugly flack for decisions made by management that he couldn't influence. I asked him if he thought he could work some magic for us if we changed our reservation for Giovanni's to the first night - he was grateful, made the phone call for us, and found room for us in early dining starting the second night.
