We'd been with Oceania just once before, when Marina was new to the company, and were far from impressed by the poor levels of service, so vowed to give the company a miss! As we had cancelled a cruise with another 6* line, we decided to give Oceania another chance to impress.

We spotted a decent deal , so opted for a shorter cruise on Riviera , and we are so very glad we did... It was wonderful, exceeding all expectations.

As we were late , embarkation was speedy, our cabin was ready, but we were far too late for lunch! Our cabin was delightful and Oceania had kindly upgraded us to a deck 10 Concierge level. Sitting in the lovely cabin was a tempting bottle of decent champagne , so we decided to postpone unpacking, and enjoy the moment, sitting on our balcony, waiting for what turned out to be an excellent room service light lunch. A good start!

Cabin A1

We could not fault the cabin, lovely decor, well laid out, small sofa and coffee table by the balcony door, and a wonderful comfortable bed. The only drawback was a wardrobe alongside the bed, so we had to decide who was " going first"

The bathroom was lovely in various marbles, with separate shower and nice big tub.
