After 27 cruises, I finally took this unique cruise opportunity to try Carnival I wanted to sample their newest ship, on this one-time-only itinerary out of my homeport, New York.

This was my first solo cruise in a long time, but I did know six people from previous cruises, and we always played trivia together, so I did not feel lonely. Two of them graciously invited me to dine with them each evening.

Cabin 4A

I purchased an Inside Guarantee, and was satisfied with what I was assigned. It was a quiet location, and fairly close to the aft stairway for easy access to the rest of the ship.

I was a little disappointed in not finding a decent chair to sit on, other than a small square stool tucked under the vanity/desk. The closet space was adequate for myself, but seemed a bit tight for two or more. The bed was very comfortable, the climate control worked perfectly, and the bathroom was okay, although I would prefer doors over the shower curtain used. Bathrobes were provided, and I requested and received bar soap to use in the shower.

Since I only use my cabin to sleep, shower, and change clothes in, for the most part, the small size didn't matter, as I am out and about the ship all day and evening. I did try the tv, and reception on the network channels was very sporadic. The closed circuit features including six different outside views was appreciated. The nav channel didn't work at first, but was fixed later in the cruise.
