We have been on about 7 cruises. 6 with NCL. We wanted to go on their newest ship. We stayed at Hampton Inn and suites by Hilton Miami Brickell downtown, great stay. Close to port. Has transport to port. Great Italian restaurant a few doors down. Embarkation was smooth but ran about 30 minutes late. Make sure you get a map when you check in and get your cards. It will be helpful when you board. The prior cruise critic was spot on to recommend Savor to get a bite to eat when you board. Our luggage came fairly quick. We enjoyed activities such as: Howl at the Moon, game shows such as perfect couple game, not so newlywed game, celebrity dance?? Tyler Grace and activities crew was the. BEST! High energy, fun and enthusiastic group. Shows: After midnight all singing but very talented. Brat pack was great especially if you were familiar with the 80's John Hugh's movies. Port Royal was very good. Ports: our family did the catamaran champagne sail. It was awesome. I was a first time snorkeler. Great instruction. Cool reef. Refreshments and snacks. It was a perfect day. In Tortola, we took a cab to Dolphin discover. We booked on our own and saved money since we bought their photo CD $$
It was great to interact with the dolphin. In Nassau, went to Atlantis. Been there done that. Ended up at Paradise island (should've just gone here) for $10 each chair $20 umbrella and $20 all you can drink coconut drinks (light medium or heavy booze) can get pina colada, Bahamas's mama, sex on beach. The beach was crowded, waves were big. But, overall nice beach day and only spent $100 for the 4 of us.
The only con was the pool situation. Too small. Can't get drinks at pool bar unless you are aggressive or flashing dollars. Waited 10 minutes for no drink. Sat around pool for over an hour with no drinks. This was the worst I have ever seen it on any NCL ship. Not enough bar crew.
