I chose the Ecstasy for the price and ports of call for shore fun days. I read a lot of so-so and even negative reviews and had second thoughts about my booking. Glad I didn't change it! My family of 5, with our sons over 21, had the time of our lives.

There were some negatives, all the result of this being a smaller and older ship, but we knew that going in. Pool is really small, but we got our fill of swimming at Half Moon Cay, which is so beautiful and fun. The lunch there was one of the better meals. As for the food, we never went into the more upscale venues because of the lines and wait times--we had better uses for our time. We didn't care for the Panorama, but the poolside restaurants had great food for breakfast and lunch.

The entertainment was really fun. Our favorites were the musicians and DJs by the pool. Lots of loud and upbeat music in the gorgeous atrium made a festive atmosphere. The gym is small but it was never so busy that we couldn't get in without any waiting, and the Galleria shops were able to supply some of what we forgot to pack.

Cabin Review

Junior Suite

Cabin JS

We had a junior suite at the very front of the ship. The balcony was small but had a stunning view, and our steward was great. Bed felt like sleeping on a cloud. The rolling of the ship at night felt so good!

Port Reviews

Charleston

Getting aboard was a bit of a hassle, but of course it would be. A little pre-embarkation communication from Carnival would have helped.

Nassau

Nassau was enjoyable for the local color, such as little cafes, police officers, international banks, street layouts, and architecture. Pushy vendors are just doing their jobs, and you can always politely refuse what they're selling.

Half Moon Cay

I wish someone had told us not to just plop down on the first beach lounger we came to! After a few minutes, we did what more savvy passengers did and walked a few miles down to the deserted areas of the beach. Just too beautiful for words. It was by far our favorite day. Try to remember your sunglasses and sunblock. Really expensive on the island.
