Sail Date: Oct 2016
Cabin: Neptune Deluxe Verandah Suite

Check in was a breeze as we were in a Neptune suite. Others complained of a disorganised shambles and taking up to 3 hours!

Suite appeared very nice, but the bathroom DEFINATELY needs a serious upgrade compared to other top suites we have had on other ships.Toilet was blocked. Bedding was great, very comfortable and plenty of pillows. For the size of suite TV needs to be bigger. Use of Neptune Lounge was convenient but the variety of food needs to be more varied specially the late afternoon snacks. Also complimentary cocktails would be welcomed pre dinner,as provided by other same class of other ships.

Dining room food needs seriously looking at! Too much couscous, the vegetables came hidden under the meat and were too often soggy! Overall, the food in the main dining room was a breath above what was served in the Lido and was mostly very disappointing. The Pinnacle pay restaurant was very good and was the standard of food that used to be served in the main dining room of previous cruise ships!

Port Reviews

Puerto Quetzal (Antigua)

Travelled to Antigua with other passengers privately. Beautiful

Lima

Found excellent guide at the square where ship bus dropped us. Fantastic day there

Huatulco

Went to the beach by the ship. Got there early and had a table and chairs on the beach and had a few beers and a swim. Water warm and safe. Great day there.

Puerto Montt

Took a local bus to Monte Christo. A good experience but nothing to see out there at all, got taxi back to ship.

Punta Arenas

Took a local bus into town and then a taxi to see the Sun and moon pyramids. Taxi driver took us back to ship.

Ushuaia (Tierra del Fuego)

Dropped at the city square by ship bus and met tour guide Giovani who took us on a private tour. He was excellent, spoke English and we saw some fantastic places, loved it there.Had lunch then back to the square for bus to ship.

Stanley

Did our on thing again. Went to local museum and got a personal historic tour by museum staff lady that was exceptionally good. Fish and chips ashore and a beer then back to ship.

Montevideo

Loved this place.Took a bus tour and found it to be a beautiful city of narrow tree lined streets and beautiful parks. A warm friendly place

Buenos Aires

Hmmm! Not what we expected. Got ripped off at the port taxi service to the hotel and found it too big and busy. Local people not that friendly or helpful. Amazingly historic architectural buildings every where. Along with others from ship staying at hotel, we took a private tour that was great. Too busy and too big to see all in 2 days. Will learn more Spanish before we do another Sth America trip, that's for certain. Money changing problems are a nightmare!

Mazatlan

Went ashore privately, tried to find a beach for a swim but the did not look safe so got a taxi back to ship.

San Diego

Privately toured the city before boarding the ship. Great public transport and very easy to use. Great city, will be back.
