Traveled with children

We are a family of six adults and two children arriving in Southampton at 11am. Embarkation was a breeze with luggage drop off and check in was the speediest we have experienced. We had access to our cabins straight away and from check in to cabin was about 30 minutes. Our service in the restaurant could not be faulted the staff where top notch. A pity the menus are limited and not up to other cruise lines we have been on. Prime rib and surf and turf only served once in a 14 day cruise. On some nights my daughter(23) would only have a starter due to the limited choice. The Windjammer cafe was busy at peak times and finding a seat a problem, the menu had a good selection each day. It was at its very busy when the restaurant did not open for lunch on the first day at sea.RCCL have a bare faced cheek to increase the bar price by 25% on leaving Southampton after its Transatlanic crossing. A 20oz beer is $7.50 which includes the 15% service which is not shown on the receipt though a space is left for gratuities. My Grandson(4.5) went to the childrens club on the first day. His mother was not allowed in the room to settle him in. On taking him to the club on the second day, he sat down at the door and would not go in as the 'ladies were not nice'. My daughter requested hot water in the Champagne bar to heat the babies bottle, only to be told to go to her room and order room service. Not my idea of helpful service. The only child changing facilities are on deck 11, so a long haul to your cabin or deck 11 if you are anywhere else on the ship. The waitresses in the pyramid lounge need a rocket up their rears to get them away from the barman. My 23 year old daughter sat at a table for ten plus minutes before going to the bar to place her order. I also ended up going to the bar as they ignored my waving arm trying to get a drink. The entertainment was very good as were the sports facilities. It was a pity that the ice rink did not open more often as it was closed on numerous occasions.

I have not include all the Ports of call due to space available, but I sure you will find other reviews.

Cabin Review

Cabin Bal

Long walk to the elevators(lifts). On this cruise the bath robes and toiletries had been removed and we had them on the maiden cruise.
