We are experienced cruisers and we have found that some cruise ships are better that others , some are good in certain areas and poor in others . This one was by far the worst cruise we have ever been on . The one saving grace was the ports of call . The management commitment of the senior staff is a disgrace .The crew , cabin stewards , waitresses etc was quite good. "Lions led by donkeys" as the man once said. Management will get the level of quality they say they want , on this ship the management did as little as possible to ensure any problems were resolved leaving the receptionists to face the ire of some customers and so called managers refusing to speak to customers when the receptionists could not solve a problem .
Some of the work practices of the crew endangered themselves and well as passengers when maintenance work was carried out and requests to raise the issues with the ship safety officer were ignored .
The catering was OK , but that's all , nothing exceptional . The entertainment on this ship was by far the most amateur and poorly directed we have ever seen . Guests walked out of the banjo players act and the mouth organ players though competent was very tedious . If I were to say that the best act was the staff talent show , then that should just about sum things up . When we recall we have seen versions of Broadway and West End shows in the past on some cruise ships , I ask why Princess cannot do this as well .
Average type of cabin , nothing exceptional . Stained carpets with a smaller that average shower room . Water dis not drain form the shower room floor if it spilt over form the shower making the floor slippery and very dangerous .
