Was aboard the Carnival Liberty for a few day budget cruise. The ship is a bit dated with its older decor and its dated room furnishings but overall its to be expected with a decade+ older ship.
CONS
-Guys burgers were a bit on the greasy/messy side, but a plain cheeseburger with self added toppings made it more tolerable IMO. The fries were good IMO.
Deck 2 with window
- AC worked great, decent amount of drawers and hanging closet area. Refrig. big enough for some leftovers, a six pack and or a bottle of wine.
- The shower is a bit short and the water was getting all over the floor due to short shower curtain and a slight back drain issue, but as long as I kept the flow low from the shower (and who wants to do that on vacation, we want high pressure from the shower!) it didn't get all over the place, just some of the place. Put a towel down and it will be soaked in a few minutes. Not a deal breaker but not great either.
- Our room was on deck 2 and about 10 rooms down they must have had an issue bc every day of the cruise when we walked by, it smelled of overflowed toilet, if you know what I mean. The smell was confined to that one spot and never traveled down to our room but it would be a huge problem if you were in a room next to or across from it.
Getting on and off the boat was pretty easy at the port but in the summer I bet its brutal with the heat! Winter it is perfectly fine if there is long lines etc.
