This was my first cruise ever. The port of embarkation was a cold Boston and within two days the temperature went up as we sailed for the first port, San Juan. First three days in sea, but there is plenty to do aboard. We stayed in stateroom 9030, a bit small, but with a balcony. The stateroom attendant Fernando was excellent and provided for everything we wanted. Room and bathroom were kept very clean with service twice a day.
A couple of buffet restaurants and two a la carte restaurants, one of the two was only open for diner. Quality of food and service everywhere was outstanding. We ate at a speciality restaurant twice (Moderno and Le Bistro) and were satisfied with them to. They are smaller and therefore more intimate than Venice and Aqua. The itinerary was great (San Juan in Puerto Rico, Bonaire, Curacao, Aruba, Ocho Rios in Jamaica, Grand Cayman and Cozumel in Mexico with a final destination of New Orleans). Sometimes the time on shore was a bit too short.
It may just have been the date that we sailed or the route, but a lot of people on board were pensioners. Not a lot of younger people were on board. The entertainment provided was average. We did like the comedian Roderick and the Irish singer Harry, but he talked to much and sang to little. Gained over three kilo's (more than five pounds) in two weeks because of the food and drinks. We had the unlimited beverage package included. That was a good thing, because prices for drinks on board are outrageously high. We might consider Norwegian again if the price was right.
Small cabin, but did have a balcony. Extremely small shower. Fortunately, we didn't have the size of the average American on board. But the room and bathroom were kept clean and the stateroom attendant was excellent.
