Did Norwegian Gem 8 years ago out of NYC and loved it.

Chose this one due to perfect date for us and locations and prior NCL experience.

BIGGEST COMPLAINT-Norwegian booked the entire Ship ESCAPE to a corporation, so they offered our ship, another ship or a refund. Seems like everyone took our ship. SO CROWEDED! This made all of the following just nuts: embarkation/disembarkation--wait times for regular restaurants and buffets--seating everywhere was an issue (decks and entertainment)--forget about taking elevators unless you like emulating sardines-(only two banks of elevators. none Mid-ship). This also caused the Noodle House to have waits up to 1 1/2 hours. Really NCL...only about 30 seats???? GOOD NEWS--Friend told us about upgrading to VIBE private deck so paid $99 per person for the whole week to have very private area with chairs, hot tubs and bar. COMPLAINT TWO--Kudos for making casino area non-smoking but how about changing rug, a fresh coat of paint and cleaning the machines/fixtures to actually reflect it? Stunk like stale smoke! Especially bad since it is an 'open' casino that you have to pass through to get to places.

Cabin Review

Balcony Stateroom

Cabin BC

Not sure what category balcony we had but I think it was BC. Bring extra hooks that you can remove for the cabin. Only two places in the room to hang anything. Really didn't hear our neighbor which was nice. I heard my parents when we were in the GEM but they talk really loudly.
