I booked this cruise due to the price P&O were offering which seemed a bit of a bargain. My mistake. Having now come home I see that the lower price is due to the many cutbacks P&O have made. I have traveled with them before and the difference on this cruise was so noticeable, many commented on it. If P&O don't watch out they will soon become the Butlins of the Sea. However perhaps this is the market they are now aiming at. Give a low basic price and them screw the passengers for every penny once on board with all the stuff that needs to be paid for.
So I will find it difficult to review this cruise without sounding as if I am having a bit of a moan. However I will stick to the facts as I saw them and leave it to you to make up your own mind. Personally I would rather pay more at the outset and then enjoy facilities that haven't been cut back to the bone.
First of all the ship is spotless and doesn't look it's age at all. Well done to P&O for managing to do this. This applies to public areas and especially the stateroom. Well done to the cabin steward. These guys just don't get paid enough for what they do.
We hired a car to see around the island. Much more economical than paying for P&O excursion
Very small port, one major street with shops and bars. Ok to get off for a couple of hours
It was Sunday. Nowhere was open. A complete waste of time
A nice port to walk around. Seville is about 90 miles away if you want to delve further
A small capital city. Ok to walk around for a few hours
