We chose this cruise because we have traveled extensively on other Holland America ships and we were anxious to sail on the new Koningsdam. There was lots to like about the new ship and some things that we felt were lacking.
We embarked quite late, about one hour before departure so I can not speak to how well embarkation went for other passengers. We were two of the last people to board the ship--just in time for boat drill.. We were in a Neptune Suite so we had the use of the Neptune Lounge and the Pinnacle for daily breakfast service--two great perks after hearing of lines, lack of tables, etc. in the Lido during peak mealtimes.
The suite was nicely appointed and our room stewards kept everything clean and tidy. I missed the shelves in the bathroom--There is not much storage space but the great shower, separate toilet room with an additional sink was great to have. I did not like the position of the TV. I like to lie on the sofa to watch movies, etc., but one had to be a contortionist to get a decent view of it and the bed is too far away for my failing eyes,
