I was a bit worried after booking this cruise after reading  the limited number of available reviews which mostly criticised the ship and crew. Please read on if you want more in-depth detail , our views and perhaps a few tips for the ports visited but otherwise do not be swayed by some of the older reviews, perhaps MSC have improved things recently? You can never please every one me thinks!

We flew to Venice for our departure, no problems with the flights or being met at the airport, transfer which was included in our package was swift, approx 30mins and we were welcomed onto the boat in an efficient manner. (Tip. Log onto MSC in advance and complete the speedy boarding procedure, this speeds things up at check in.).We were then taken on board the boat direct to our cabin at approx 1230hrs, it was available immediately. Case's followed about 30mins later. We then got ready to cruise out at 5pm which was amazing. The ship travels along Tronchetto Lido De Venezia right in front of St Marks Square. The view of Venice from the ship at this point is excellent, a great start to the holiday.

Cabin was immaculate, use a towel and it gets changed when room is next serviced which seemed to be about 3 times each day. Usual touches such as shower soap and shampoo all provided and a hair drier in one of the drawers. We have 2 boys aged 13 and 10 and they sleep in our cabin on top bunks, we had a nice double bed. Cabin not massive but we didn't spend too long in there. We normally have an outside cabin but decided to save a few pounds this time and try inside. No regrets there either, telly has a view cam so you can see what's going on outside and where boat is if you wish. Nice air conditioning and adequate storage space..Mini bar available but watch the prices.. Read more
