Sail Date: Nov 2016
Cabin: Balcony Classic

So this was the first time we've sailed on Costa so we went in with fairly low expectations (Due to other reviews, the sinking of Concordia and crash of Classica) and we only paid £210 for the week. But they exceeded expectations and were better than some other cruise lines we've been on.

We've sailed Princess, HAL, RCI, NCL, CMV, Carnival and MSC. This Costa ship and experience was substantially better than our last cruise which was the Carnival Miracle to Hawaii (Same type of ship, Vista Style.)

Balcony Classic

Cabin BC

We booked a guaranteed inside cabin and got a free upgrade to balcony !

Great size cabin, yes looking a bit dated as the ship is 13yrs old, but plenty of storage, good size bathroom and balcony.

Location was probably the best we've had, mid ship next to the lifts. Perfect

Port Reviews

Venice

Venice is such an amazing place. We sailed out at night and sailed back in the morning. Great scenery and so much culture and history

Split

Split is a really nice city, very clean and cheap prices. We did a walk up to the top of one of the hills overlooking the city for panoramic views over the bay and city. Definitely worth it !

Kotor

One of my favourite ports of all the cruises I've been on ! We walked to the castle/monastery at the top of the hill above Kotor. Took about an hour and pretty hard going at times on a switch back trail. But totally worth it, amazing views !!

The sail back out in the afternoon was spectacular, similar to parts of Alaska and New Zealand Fjords

Katakolon (Olympia)

We've been here before and went to Olympia which was ok.

This time hired a car from Avis in the town (30 Euros for the day) and drove to a winery, beach and a nice cafe overlooking Katakolon itself.

Fairly limited in things to do, maybe better in mid summer with the beaches

Corfu

Hired a car again and visited a nice monastery and a few beaches.

Finished at the big castle over looking the main town which is 3 Euros. Really nice views over the town and sea.

Nice island, very green and peaceful.

Dubrovnik

Pretty unlucky with the weather as it was wet and cold. We did a 1hr taxi tour for 50 Euros which was worth it as we had some nice picture spots over the port area and the old town itself.

The Old Town is really nice, quaint bars and shops. Would love to go back in the summer
