This was only my second cruise (having been on a Caribbean cruise earlier this year with Royal Caribbean) but, having read some rather scathing reports I was a little worried about the quality I would receive with this cruise (especially as on this occasion I was travelling with just my 7 year old son (as my partner was working and could not join us) - but, have to say, I had a really enjoyable holiday.
Embarkation was quite smooth and quick and our luggage arrived quite quickly.
The ship itself was very similar to the Royal Caribbean one I had already been on (that being the Jewel of the Seas) and was easy to navigate, well laid out, clean and well kept.
Fine for the price. Always clean. Bed comfortable. Plenty of storage space (wardrobes and drawers). Shower room adequate.
Just a short walk from the dock brings you to the town centre. There are painted lines on the pavements for you to follow (purple, yellow, blue and red) depending on what you want to see. We spent a couple of hours on the purple trail - stopping at the Cathedral, the Tower and the squares, before walking back to the ship via the botanical gardens. Most enjoyable.
Lovely place to wander around. We had plenty to see including the Cathedral, the Alcazaba, the Roman Theatre and the Castle. Really enjoyed our stop here.
Plenty to see here - wandered round the main streets then visited the Roman Theatre and the Castle.
