We choose this trip as we wanted a different trip than that of the itineraries from Southampton. We wanted some September Sunshine. We are fans of Royal Caribbean and so we choose this ship and itinerary.
I would suggest if you are doing this cruise to not book a private transfer from the airport unless you are in a big group. We were just two and spent over an hour waiting in the airport for our transfer to the ship and it wasn't a pleasant experience just standing around with nowhere to sit. We were then packed into a private car with two other people. So not really that private. There are various options available. You can take the local bus to the people mover near the port or the train to the people mover and then get to the port that way. The cruise transfer bus got to the ship quicker than we did.
One point to note that if you have never travelled this way before. When you get to your departure airport you need to look for the person with the Royal Caribbean clipboard and check in with them. If you booked your flights through the cruise ship and your not in business you can only check-in at the airport, so if you want to upgrade you want to get to the airport early.
The views in this place are stunning. Beer and Ice Cream were cheap as chips. well worth going too.
Its a nice port
Not much to do in port. the old town was nice.
We did our own excursion and took the train in. We went to see the Aropolis but the queue was ridiculous so we didn't wait for it. Next time we would go straight to it rather than wander around a bit like we did.
Very windy in port, after seeing the windmills in the old town not much else to see.
