My DW and I were excited to see RCI offer this 3-night cruise as the inaugural sailing from it's new home in Port Everglades. We were looking for a quick trip to celebrate our 10-year anniversary and this was perfect and probably our only opportunity to experience an Oasis Class ship with most of their sailings being 7-night itineraries. Overall, it was a great ship with a wonderful crew with some possible growing pains to accommodate the huge number of passengers.
We arrived at terminal 18 at 11:30 a.m. on the day of the cruise and had no wait to check in and flew up to the second level waiting area. We waited here close to two hours! Not sure if this is typical for this size of ship or not, but seemed like there was very little organization to the order of getting people on board. We were quite annoyed that before we were called to board, people were coming straight from the check-in to get in line to board, thus getting on the ship with no wait while we were stuck waiting for two hours.
Boarding through deck 5, we were amazed at the Royal Promenade! Such a wonderful vibe to welcome you on the ship. We quickly found our stateroom (6680) not far from the Promenade or the Boardwalk. We were immediately acquainted with our stateroom attendant (Menino) who was tremendously attentive throughout our stay.
The cabin was perfect. Plenty of room, comfortable bed, balcony was very nice and bathroom was more spacious than other cruise ships. In addition, the location just couldn't have been better. Mid-ship, not far from the aft elevators and close to the promenade and the Boardwalk. I would choose this very room again!
