Disappointed that the itinarary was changed for Carnival Splendor we jumped over to the Carnival Triumph.  Ocho Rios, Belize and Grand Cayman were our new destination.  Embarkation went very smooth in Miami however, we had flown into Ft. Lauderdale with South West Airlines.  Transportation to Miami cost us $100.00. Private transfer service arranged from our hotel (Hyatt Pier 66) to Miami.  A cab quoted us $125.00 and a seperate service quoted us $85.00 on up.  Carnival could not accomadate the transfers at the last minute so we were on our own.  Our cabin was ready by 1:00pm and off we were to the Lido deck for a cool drink.Ship:Very clean and nice for a ship this age and size.  Extremely crowded on deck 5 and the Lido deck.   We are used to the Conquest class and this was really crowded in comparison. Food met our expectations, after 10 Carnival cruises you know the menu by heart.  Staff was good especially at the coffee bar, a special thanks to Farah!!  Ports:Ocho Rios, Jamaica - Our first time to Ocho Rios.  We have been to Montego Bay a couple of times and were not impressed nor did we have a good time.  Ocho Rios turned that around in a hurry.  We went to the Bamboo Beach Club and had a blast!  What a great time.Belize - We went to Goffs Caye to go snorkeling.  The current was very, very bad.  Also, they did not have snorkel vest but life jackets to wrap around your waste. This was very uncomfortable.   I stand 5 feet tall and weigh 115lbs.  The current picked me up and away I went.  We choose not to contine on the snorkle adventure.  Sometimes things work out for the best.  We went to a table in the middle of this island (that is about the size of a football field) and there was someone with a cooler loaded with Belikin Belize Beer, Im happy!  My husband and I picked a little private piece of paradise out, drank a few beers and enjoyed the peacefulness of this place.  It could not have been better.Grand Cayman - A hugh disapointment at Seven Mile Beach.  The day we arrived 5 ships were there.  4 Carnival and Freedom to Seas, RCCL.  We had visted Grand Cayman on many occasions but never went to the famous Seven Mile Beach.  Well, we saw and we departed.  This was election day in Grand Cayman, no alcohol, no stores open except for jewelry and no restraunts expect for one.  The chairs were touching each other on the beach and they expected hundreds more in the next couple of hours.  We were out of there.  Again, things somethimes work out to the best.  We went upstairs at the restaurant that was open and had a fab lunch with the best ice tea in the caribbean.  It was wonderful.Over all, I was really looking forward to sailing on Carnival Splendor. I have sailed Carnival 10 times, RCCL twice and Princess once.  Holland America will be this December to Panama.  Some cruses are better than others, this one was better than ok.   To me its all about perception and attitude.  Things didn't always go the way we were hopeing for but you know, even a bad day at sea is better than a good day at work.  We had seven wonderful days away from the daily grind that most all of us deal with week after week.  Fortunate?  You bet we are!Happy Sailing.
