Cabin: Concierge Class 2

I chose this cruise because of the itinerary, this was my first visit to Australia.

Overall, the cruise was very good but I was a little disappointed in a number of areas.

The cabin was a little shabby, the door of the sliding wardrobe door did not glide or close properly, and the curtain tie backs were hooked on one side by a safety pin, and the other side the hook coming out of the wall. Not 5 star luxury.

Concierge Class 2

Cabin C2

Celebrity advertise as Modern Luxury, however our cabin was a little tired looking, shabby.

The curtains were shabby, the tie back hook not attached to the wall on one side and the other side held on by a safety pin!!!

The sliding wardrobe door was sticking and did not close properly without lifting it with two hands. There was not a lot of shelving. If this is Concierge Class, I hate to think what the cabins below are like. Certainly not Modern Luxury.

Port Reviews

Sydney (Australia)

We stayed 5 days in Sydney as independent travellers, prior to boarding Celebrity Solstice. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Sydney, and would recommend exploring the restaurants and nightlife around Darling Harbour or The Rocks. The highlight of the visit was the Sydney Harbour Bridge climb (expensive but worth it), and a trip to the Blue Mountains. Finally, the sail away from Sydney is beautiful, as the Ship is docked between the Bridge and the Opera House. We felt quite emotional sailing away from such an iconic scene, and fabulous photo opportunities.

Brisbane

Brisbane is a lovely city. The ship was only here for around 6 hours, and since we had no excursions planned and didn't know much about the city, we took the Hop on Hop off bus which was good value. Most of the people on the Ship seemed to head for the zoo.

Cairns

No excursions planned, most folk headed for the Barrier Reef. Ship had to anchor off shore and tenders transferred guests ashore. Preference was given to those people who had booked excursions, so the independent travellers had to wait forever to get ashore. The tender operations were very slow and there was not much time to explore.

Bali

The tender operations again were very slow and as we did not expect the traffic to be so hectic we only had a few hours before having to return to the Ship. Yes, I've ticked that box! Been to Bali, but had no time to explore or enjoy the culture.
