First time cruisers. Overall, its simply great to have everything laid on for you, and have a different part of the world come to your balcony every morning. Can't wait to go again. I'd guess the ship was probably a nice mix between older traditional style and the modern, in terms of features and crew style. It wasn't stuffy and snobby but nor was it a floating Benidorm hell (apart from the sea days, when you find yourself confined to cabin to avoid the battery-hen spacing deck sunbathing and general overcrowdedness)
HOWEVER, some niggles:
1. Planning excursions before the trip involves a whole load of printing stuff off the website if you're to stand a fighting chance of making sensible selections. They really could and should make that an easier process, with either a simple printed and posted, or else downloadable, booklet or at the very least better online website layout. Splitting it all over hundreds of often duplicated individual website pages is just a bewildering slog.
Compact but cosy. Balcony lacked much of a rearward view due to bulkhead but that didn't trouble us. Great bed ... I was a little worried beforehand about it being two singles pushed together, but you honestly can't tell. Disturbed by loud music from the Colony Club event room/bar immediately below us for typically an hour and a half most nights: we could live with that, but any more than that it would have been very disturbing. I suspect those nearer the central atrium's longer duration 'entertainment' might have come off worse. Television fuzzy picture and not worth bothering with, and remote control buttons sticky and very hard to get working. Disappointed not to have a blob on a map showing our position on the cabin's tele, but Google Maps on the phone did the job better anyway.
