I chose this cruise due to trying to plan way in advance of another event while taking advantage of a reduced deposit sale. Of utmost importance to me as well was booking a HA cabin for my scooter which factored into my decision to book early. Everything went off without a hitch and we sailed promptly as scheduled. In addition, I picked up Fttf since I had a cabana booked and wanted to get a crack at one I had my eye on.

Right off the bat, we encountered rough (but not stormy) water which had my poor wife seasick anytime we were not in port. Because I attended to her, we missed almost all shows as all she wanted to do was sleep off the sickness in the cabin. When she did feel like moving around in the early daytime, pretty much the only thing of interest to her was the casino, which was rough since we were on a budget.

My wife could not wait to get the heck off the ship in Nassau, but immediately regretted that decision after being hounded by the peddlers. My scooter was only a partial deterrent from the hawking of the taxi drivers, but a surprising number were willing to take the scooter was well, many more than originally expected. After picking up a handful of trinkets and some conch fritters, we got back on board for the day without bothering to see much else since my wife felt very uncomfortable with the peddlers.

Cabin 6D

We loved the fully HA cabin and the layout, especially the power assisted door for my scooter. Pulling straight forward and parking it against the desk, there was adequate room for us to walk into the bathroom and for the recharging cord to be plugged in at the desk. However, this was also housekeeping's usual spot for a trash can and I was constantly having to move it out of the way on every single return after service, twice a day. The old live vest box was gone and the vests were now stored on top of the closet space. The television was a decent-sized flat screen, although the satellite system was unreliable at times.

Port Reviews

Jacksonville

Arrived two days in advance of the cruise. The day before the cruise, we hopped down to St. Augustine for the Fountain of Youth, as well as a trolley tour of the city.

Nassau

Pushy salespeople. Never again!

Half Moon Cay

Booked cabana 1 (taupe) due to wheelchair accessibility. Shortly after arrival, we fully stocked with plenty of drinks (diet Coke) and food. Bar service was offered a couple of times, but declined. Due to the paved wheelchair ramp leading from the main path, we had a number of visitors trying to reach the beach and were inquisitive about the cost and amenities of the cabana. Once we were derided as "people with too much money to spend" (HA!), but it was all good.
