We did enjoy our get away, but Carnival Magic was not as good as our previous 4 Carnival cruises on the Fantasy, Dream, and Liberty. It started out with us having to go to Guest Services just to get our cabin floor swept, since it had not been swept when the last guests left. We found the Magic just so-so, you could see how dirty the floors were as you came down the stairs by the elevators. The shows were not very good. We were really annoyed when we asked the hostess to sit us with other people at Your Time Dining and they refused to do it. We finally had to find two other people who were traveling alone and also wanted to share, and we went to dinner with them the last 3 nights. The waiters were nice but it seemed like they were given more tables to wait, so they were way too busy and service was slower than it used to be. We had a cabin with a tub, and that was nice, and after the first day the steward kept the cabin clean. Debarkation was kind of crazy and confused. One of the perks that Carnival used to have was that we would get to go to the Captain's Party as Gold Members. That was taken away from us and now we get a pin with each cruise. We did not get the pin either. Carnival seems to be charging more and giving less. We have decided that we will now travel Royal Caribbean from now on. We used them last time and the ships are so much nicer and it doesn't really cost that much more.

Cabin Review

Deluxe Ocean View

Cabin 6N

Cabin was not clean the first day. We had to go to guest services and ask that they get it swept. After that it was kept clean. I liked the bathtub. It's large enough for an adult to soak a tired back. Plenty of hot water. Nice big window.

Port Reviews

Port Canaveral (Orlando)

This is a really good and efficient port.

Amber Cove (Puerto Plata)

We enjoyed the unlimited zipline for $20.

St. Thomas

We took a taxi to Coki Beach to snorkel. Very nice.

Grand Turk

Take an excursion here. Barely anything to do unless you want to use their pool or the beach. Those are nice.

San Juan

Good place to walk around and see the sights.
