Having had a great 8 day experience last tear with Scenic, we booked the Romantic Rhine and Moselle cruise sailing from Amsterdam,and finishing in Basel.
We booked a few extra nights in Amsterdam prior to the cruise and stayed at the Double Tree by Hilton. This allowed us to have time to explore Amsterdam, and have an easy embarkation.
Scenic use the Double Tree as their base in Amsterdam, so having checked out, we went to the Scenic lounge where the cases were taken, and placed in our cabin. We had a few hours in a comfortable lounge, getting to know other passengers before a coach came to take us to the Scenic crystal. A very slick process.
Cabin Review
We booked a bigger cabin than the previous years cruise and were delighted with the additional space we were provided with. Cabin 303 is on the Diamond deck, and is near to the middle of the ship so suffers minimal engine noise. Indeed we slept well throughout.
The bedding is feather and down, so if you're allergic to this request Synthetic bedding before travelling so they can ensure you have the correct bedding. My wife suffered a very bad reaction to the feathers in her pillows and duvet, which had a dramatic effect on our first night.
The infotainment system is based on an Apple iMac, and has a section of films, music as well as information about your tour, and the schedule for the current day including the dinner menu.
The all inclusive mini bar is well stocked with a variety of spirits, mixers, wines, beer and soft drinks together with Pringles and chocolates
