I was travelling with 2 of my girlfriends. They shared a balcony room. I had my own balcony room. I am a retired travel agent with over 20 years in the industry.
Due to the prior week's outbreak of Norovirus caused by many drunk passengers, our embarkation was delayed by several hours as they sterilized the whole ship from top to bottom. EVERYONE seemed to show up at 1. The lines were out the door but seemed to move fairly quickly. HOWEVER, once we got through check-in the nightmare began.
We got in another line to get on the ship. We waited over an hour while they scanned cards, waited for slow moving passengers to get up the gangplank and clear it, then send another group up. It would have been too hot to send up a steady stream of people. Once we finally made it on, they announced the cabins weren't ready so everyone went to the bars to start their unlimited drink package drinking. And boy did they take full advantage.
I was the only one in my cabin and it was fine, with the exception of the bed a foot or less from the closet. The sitting area and balcony were wonderful. The hairdryer was great! The tv had the usual news channels and a movie channel and view from the deck. No complaints.
Moved quickly through the first line only to stand in line for an hour to get on the ship. The prior week's outbreak of Norovirus had them cleaning the ship from top to bottom which delayed embarkation until 1 or after. Long lines.
