This was our second cruise on the Star Princess. Not much has improved since the 1st except for the excellent production show entertainment. "Born To Dance" is a hit. This time the staff on the ship just did not seem very happy. Perhaps it was because this was a "one off" cruise itinerary, or everyone is just getting tired.

The itinerary was interesting, Nanaimo BC was the surprise hit of the cruise for us. Nice little town and very welcoming. Not enough time in Seattle and we also had to go thru immigration there. Astoria was also nice and easy to walk. We did a Hop on Hop off tour in San Francisco where they seemed to be in a race, this was not one of the ships excursions but I think they all blast thru the town. We got back on the ship for diner and did not get off again even though they were in port till 11pm. That made it kind of late to get up to see us go under the Golden Gate bridge. I we did a west coast tour again it would not be this one, but would return to Nanaimo and Astoria if possible.

Food was not so hot in the main dinning room so we ended up going to the buffet the last 2 nights which was OK. The cooks still seem to think that everyone loves onions and spicy food :-(

Cabin Review

Oceanview (obstructed view)

Cabin OV

Our cabin was E105 obstructed view The window was not to bad of a view but actually right on the upper promenade, fortunately they closed the walkway from dusk to dawn (But some people went there anyway). It also has 2 bunks we did not use but we hit them with our heads and shoulders often and the ladders were stored under the bed making it harder to put our suitcases there.

Port Reviews

Vancouver

We got there 2 days before cruise. Mostly walked around.
