I enjoyed the cruise despite, not because of, the ship.

There were 8'of us on this cruise; myself, my two adult daughters, my son and four of my grandchildren, who are aged 3-7. We had chosen this cruise because my younger daughter wanted to try cruising and the rest of us, who have cruised several times before, wanted to try Royal Carribean as we had not sailed with them before.

Embarkation was quick and efficient and we were on the ship within half an hour of arriving at the terminal. My first impression of the ship was that it looked in good condition, but it lacked the wow factor that I was expecting. I thought the Royal Promenade was dark and cramped looking.

Our cabin was ready at 1pm, which was the time we had been told it would be available and our cases were already waiting outside our door, which was a real bonus. We had an inside cabin on deck 9. This was big enough for the four of us and was perfectly adequate in terms of cleanliness and layout etc.
