Chose this cruise as I was turning 70 and was looking for memorable experience to celebrate this milestone in my life. However on boarding Pacific Jewel was totally underwhelmed from the start. Without detailing problems experienced they were with dinning in Waterfront restaurant, lack of choices of desirable food in the Pantry. No towels or toilet paper in cabin when arriving at cabin, lack of interest to supply them when pointed out. Onshore tour a nightmare relating to tenders....or lack of. Lack of P&O staff was a problem and many of those there were unmotivated. Found the Pacific Jewel to be old & tired, certainly no wow factor. Have been on 6 previous cruises and had wonderful experiences on all 6, but not this one. The Salt Grill was a very pleasant experience & the entertainment director was to be complimented, she was excellent. We enjoyed the nightly shows, daily trivia quiz .
