I got this cruise at the last minute (10 days before sailing) as a fun get away for fall break with my family of 6 (2 adults & 4 kids - age 8-13). It was fairly cheap & RC has a pretty good reputation. I read several reviews that seemed fairly harsh & pretentious as well as several that enjoyed it. I knew it was an older ship & didn't have any problem with that as long as the service, food, & facilities were fine & well maintained. I planned to come here & let people know it was a great little cruise. Unfortunately I was wrong. I couldn't get off that boat fast enough.

Embarkation was smooth - no problems & fast. Lunch was good. Then our rooms were ready. They were on the 3rd floor (cheap with port holes). The hallways smelled of sewage & mold. I hoped this was a problem they were addressing. I don't know if they were but the smell never left! I wanted to hold my breath to go to the room. The rooms were small, but I knew that from the reviews & it was fine. Our toilet didn't flush when we first got in the room. It was a few hours before they came to fix it.

I went to request the free time dining & was told it was full but they could probably accommodate us at 6:45pm. When we showed up then the host had no idea why we were there & told us our dinner was at 8:30. They had us wait a few minutes & found us a table. They tried to move us to 6:00 but I don't want to eat that early. We left it at 8:30.
