My wife and I went on this cruise. This is our 17 cruise overall and with Carnival our 6th.

Carnival at Port Canaveral is an excellent port. It is so easy to drive to. They are very efficient at boarding and disembarking. Incredibly fast, smooth and surprisingly quick. We parked at Port Canaveral Cruise Parking close to the Raddison Hotel. They are excellent, friendly and nothing short of great service. We will use this parking in the future.

We have cruised many times and since our last cruise with Carnival (in March 2016) things have changed quite a bit. The first surprise was that we lost an onboard credit when we called because the price went down. We asked the person several times if this would alter our overall cost and she said no. We found out later that we lost the onboard credit. I called back and they said they were sorry but they could not do anything. Even though the person omitted that detail we lost the onboard credit which did not compensate the drop in price. Surprise but no problem.

The cabin was always clean. We found out that now you are offered only room cleaning once per day, either in the morning or evening. If you select both you will be charged extra now, surprise. Anyway, the person in charge was excellent, very professional, courteous and always remembered our names. We tipped extra directly to him. This room was on the Lido deck and was close to elevators, pools, and eating areas. It is a great location.

In order to save, there are no pens now, no paper to write on, the Samsung TV is so basic that the resolution was poor to 480. Could not adjust brightness or any setting as the remote controls are limited. Since we are Gold, we had to remind our server that we receive a bottle of water and a pin each. If you do not say anything they will not bring anything. This happened on our last cruise with Carnival.

But I guess times are tough and getting worse so Cruise Lines have to cut costs somewhere and it is with the extras that before we took for granted. Still, we had no major complaints as we were treated excellently.
