Cabin: Superior Ocean View Stateroom with Balcony

We chose to sail on allure for the 2nd time because we love the oasis class and we had only sailed aboard her 1 time in november 2012. the staff was not happy, the beverage service was slow and the beverage manager did not take responsibility for it, he blamed our dinner wait staff, which we know they got a talking to and we are not happy about that. the bar service was poor all over the ship except the sabor boardwalk bar which always seemed to be empty, worked for us. the bed was so uncomfortable, the pillows flat. our room attendant was so nice but i dont think our room was ever vacuumed, the rug was loaded with sand, dust etc.

The blue planet show was great as was momma mia. the comedian was ok. The wait staff on deck 4 at our dinner table was fabulous, they were one of the only shining examples on the ship, acki, shubert and stephanie. they knew my dietary restriction, need for almond milk and they came to me before i could even mention it, now that is first class service! the problem is, the rest of the dining staff didnt seem to care to check my file on the ship, so i had to chase the almond milk. again, they blamed stephanie but it was not her fault! she was smart enough as was acki, to check my notes. stephanie and acki followed protocol and made sure they knew their passenger before i even arrived to the dinner table. again management not taking responsibility, blaming the other crew inappropriately! if stephanie and acki could take the time to check and see my dietary need, why couldnt the head of dining? why couldnt he take 5 minutes to check? i guess he is too important and must blame others, that is poor managment and poor customer service. i am so upset that my head waitress and waiter got spoken to.... That is wrong. i was not told this by stephanie or acki, they are professional. it was by chance a friend on board heard the discussions and informed us. i am so upset stephanie was reprimanded, she did her job!

Dan at the sabor bar and dejon at the champagne bar were the only shining stars on the beverage service staff. the air conditioning was poor, the wifi voom -what a joke! if you want the voom royal is advertising, you have to pay more! omg how awful, shame on royal! they advertise voom as the best and fastest, well guess what? they dont tell you that you have to pay an arm and a leg for that fast speed! if you pay the sale price, you get the crappy voom, low speed and it stinks! i feel it is a bait and switch, shame on royal! we are diamond, it stinks to get treated this way yet we have spent over $20k cruising with them! Ha! also when we arrived to board, diamond was far from the diamond waiting area, the emeralds and platinums were with the diamond plus and suite guests unacceptable! we paid to have that diamond, we should have been in the same boarding area as the diamond plus and suite guests, why were shoved to the side like gold? sorry kids, but when you spend this much money and in past cruises you are with diamond plus, i wont stand to be placed in what should be the gold area and the first time cruisers area. royal advertises this special amenity for the crown and anchor guests with our level but we certainly didnt see it this cruise!

The cabin was clean and orderly except the carpet. the state room attendant was extremely friendly and got what we needed. the cabin was beyond small, too small, we wish we had checked it before booking. the air conditioning stunk, the bed was flat the pillows were flat. there were not enough drawers for clothing. no place for luggage except under bed which made it worse. The wifi in the room horrible! voom is a joke! our stateroom attendant sam was a shining star for the most part... Not sure why the carpet always seemed unvacuumed. sam did everything we asked with no delay, we tipped extra. perhaps the carpets just need to be replaced? dont book this room unless you like shoe boxes with no space, a flat bed and flat cheap pillows.
