We enjoyed this 18 day cruise to Hawaii and back, the longest cruise we've taken. There were five sea days in each direction, a great time to relax and explore the ship.
Our veranda cabin was spacious with plenty of storage and a good size bathroom with a bathtub and shower. Our room stewards kept it clean and supplied with plenty of big towels and ice. All the staff we encountered were smiling and polite and helpful when needed.
The food in both the Lido buffet and the main dining room was varied, fresh and tasty. Most evenings I opted for grilled fish and was offered a variety during the week. We had fresh wild salmon after leaving Seattle and whole mahi mahi were brought on board in Hawaii and butchered on deck, by the pool, then grilled for lunch, served with a tossed to order Caesar salad. Another on deck meal was an evening luau with whole roast pigs in the Hawaiian manner and a buffet of side dishes, grilled fish, ribs, chicken and more served under the stars. There was a separate table covered with a wide array of exotic tropical fruits to try. The chefs made an effort to impress us with good food every day starting with a wide selection of breakfast choices, including many freshly baked pastries and breads.
Good location, quiet, clean, spacious.
We walked up hill to the shopping area in the city center, easy 15 minute walk from Canada Zplace dock. We went to the Picasso Exhibit at the Art Gallery of Vancouver, a beautiful museum. We had a nice lunch at Nordstrom restaurant across the street and visited the shops in the Pacific Centet. A great day!
Waikiki is famous for hotels and shopping. Very busy, not my idea of a vacation spot.
We liked seeing the two oldest hotels with classic architecture in the original buildings.
We bought a day pass on the city bus and saw a few areas then went to Whalers Zvillage and Kanapali beach to swim.
Nice walk into town sling the water. Later bought a city bus pass and rode out to Oak Harbor to see attractive older neighborhood, autumn leaves changing color and a bit of the island. Returned to Chinatown, Bastion Square, the main shopping area, the harbor,
Had tea at Murchies, very traditional , we'd been there twenty years ago, still charming.
